This is an illustration I created for a digital arts class on Adobe Illustrator. This drawing was inspired by the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. I wanted to portray a person fighting a large, vicious dragon.
This is the sketch I used when I made the illustration. I blocked in silhouettes of my subjects using the blob tool, added lighting, and then refined everything until it took shape.
These are the sketches which I tried out different design elements and studies for the dragon. I tried out various details until I found the design that I liked.
The drawing was originally going to feature a wolf instead of a dragon, but I opted for the dragon after deciding to take inspiration from Jabberwocky.
